We chose the name Damascus for two reasons. The first is that Saul has a life-changing encounter with God on the road to Damascus and becomes Paul. We hope that your fitness journey with us will be equally life-changing. The second is that Damascus steel was a type of steel used in the Middle Ages to forge weapons of legendary beauty. Such blades were reputed to be incredible sharp and durable, yet flexible at the same time. Our slogan “Iron Sharpens Iron” is at the same time our vision statement. We hope to build a community of better, healthier and more functional human beings.
